Happy New Year 2017

With the success of the photographs captured last year, I was keen to return To the Westminster Methodist Central Hall for another round of photographing The London New Year Fireworks Display.

With the logistics well and truly sorted out before hand, I arrived on location in plenty of time to be again ushered upstairs to avoid the Robby Williams concert the BBC would be showing this evening.

Before hand I had time to sink a New Year beer with a good friend and exceptional photojournalist Lee in a little known pub we know in Westminster. He was keen to see what I had in my camera bag this year.

As lugging so much kit into the center of London and back home again on such a busy and late night proved last year to be a lot of work for one person, I kept kit this time to a minimum. Which turned out to be for the better. The location while offering spectacular views doesn’t offer much standing room.

If I was going to take one camera, it may as well be the best camera in the world, The Hasselblad H6D 100c is an incredible piece of kit. I am and will forever be very grateful for the team at Hasselblad UK for putting their faith in me.

Having last years experience stood me in great stead to ensure I delivered images of a much higher standard, not only to Hasselblad but Visit London and London & Partners again.

KIt:
Hasselblad H6D 100c Medium format Camera
HCD 4,0-5,6/35-90 Lens

Vanguard Alta Pro 2+ 264CT Carbon Fibre Tripod

I filmed the display using the Panasonic DMC-GH4EB-K Compact Camera System and Lee Filters Seven5 ND Grad Set Soft Edge. i placed the camera on the wall at the top of the dome on a bean bag which kept it stable.
